RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Regional Vice President Sales, Group Pension Toronto, and the successful candidate will be responsible for the continued expansion of our business in the GTA and South Western Ontario. As such, he or she will build relationships with the various distribution networks, such as actuarial consulting firms, group pension brokers and MGA of Industrial Alliance, in order to achieve sales targets. In this capacity, this person determines the best strategy to build relationships and meet the needs of the distribution networks. The incumbent, working with the other team members, will respond to RFPs, prepare the shortlist presentations, present with the other team members, and will follow up on the RFPs as required. He or she will also work with the other team members at the point of sale to implement new plans. Some on going service with certain clients will be required.
REQUIREMENTS
We are looking for an experienced professional who is a dynamic self-starter, with a strong orientation toward sales, and highly motivated to achieve established sales targets. The ideal candidate has a university degree in a related discipline (Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science, etc.) and/or a minimum of 10 years experience in the pension industry. A thorough understanding of CAP plans and a solid knowledge of investments is required. An understanding of defined benefit plans is an advantage. This person will also possess the necessary communication and presentation skills and knowledge pertinent to the position.

GROUP RETIREMENT SERVICES
Manager, Pension Customer Relations – Ontario
Industrial Alliance, one of the major Canadian Life and Health Insurance Companies, is seeking to fill the above position with an experienced account manager to support our expansion across the country in Group Retirement Services.
DUTIES
Reporting to the Regional Vice President Pensions, the successful candidate will be a key member of our group retirement sales and service team in Ontario. The candidate will be responsible for the supervision of the Customer Relations Managers and Financial Education Specialists in Ontario and Western Canada to ensure that our service and new case implementation targets are met. The individual will also supervise the support staff in the Toronto Pension Office In addition; the incumbent will also be responsible for servicing a number of large clients in the GTA.
He or she will participate in finalist presentations and will provide support and assistance to our business development team. The candidate will also be a key member of our Ontario market development steering committee.
He or she will facilitate proper communications between plan sponsors and our administrative team through the Customer Relation Managers and Financial Education Specialists, with a goal of optimizing client satisfaction. A key requirement of this position will be to deliver pro-active, value-added solutions to our group retirement clients.
This position is based in our sales and administration office in Toronto.
REQUIREMENTS
This position calls for a professional who is highly motivated by new challenges. A dynamic self-starter, he or she is willing to assume an important role within our organization. The ideal candidate has a university degree in a related field of studies with good knowledge of capital accumulation plans, defined benefit plans and investments. A candidate with a lower level of education but with strong industry experience might also qualify for this position. This person is also expected to have strong presentation, communication, persuasion and planning skills.
